Solemn Easter Vigil

Description

The most solemn liturgy of the year. A vigil (watch) awaiting Christ's resurrection. New fire is blessed, the Paschal Candle is consecrated, and after a vigil of 12 readings the Baptismal Font is blessed. The vigil is followed by the first Sung Mass of Easter.

As a "Society Parish", St. Paul's is under the pastoral care of the Bishop of Oswestry. We celebrate the unique role and vocation women have in the Church. At the same time, we firmly confess the 2000-year-old Apostolic Tradition, originated from the Lord Jesus, and cannot accept the ordination of women as deacons, priests, or bishops.
