- Can you pray for me/my family member/friend/neighbour/...?
We pray for the sick daily at every Mass and at many other services. Please get in touch with the vicar or the parish office if you want to insert the name of a sick or dying person on the prayerlist.
You can also visit St. Paul's church and use the Visitors' Book to leave any requests of prayer. The church is open daily 9am-7pm.
- What ministry do you offer to the sick and/or dying?
The vicar is always keen to visit any sick or dying person whether in their home, in a care home, or in the hospital. Talking to the sick person and to their family, we can decide together what is the best form of ministry in each case.
Some will simply want to talk to someone, in this case the vicar. Some appreciate prayers said with or for them. Some will want to receive one or all of the sacraments: Confession, Anointing, or Holy Communion.
We can bring Holy Communion to hospitals, care homes, or to the home of the sick person.
We believe spiritual and sacramental ministry to the sick and dying is one of the most important ones. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with the vicar.
- What fees are payable?
There are no fees or any other expenses to pay.
- My family member/friend/neighbour is already unconscious...
If you believe God, prayer, and church were important to that person during their life, please, get in touch with us even if they are at the end of their life and unconscious. The vicar will come and pray for that person, will anoint them with the Holy Oil, and will give them absolution and final blessing.
- I know about someone housebound...
With their permission, we are very happy to make regular visits to the housebound. The vicar can take Holy Communion to them or simply be there for them if they want to talk to someone.
